When the earthquake struck, the first responders on the ground were local rescue teams. Our team immediately began working alongside them to ensure that supplies, medical equipment, and volunteers reached the most critical areas.
"We coordinate logistics in real time," explains Elena Rivas, field operations coordinator. "The rescue teams tell us what they need, where they are working, and what the priority areas are. We then organize the delivery of supplies, transport, and additional manpower to support them."
This collaboration has been crucial in reaching communities that were isolated by landslides and collapsed roads. Thanks to this joint effort, medical teams have been able to reach remote villages, and food and water distribution has been organized efficiently.
"We have learned that the key to effective relief is communication and trust," adds Rivas. "The rescue teams know their communities best. We are here to support them, not to replace them."
